Malcolm X did start off as a black supremacist, but after his pilgrimage to mecca his ideals changed and he did his most important work. He advocated the equality of individuals. He explained the Martin Luther king Jr's plan needed an individual in a high position (the president and congress) to sympathize with the cause, but without them nothing would happen. He also advocated necessary defense over violence. He even explained how having racism was an economic advantage to everyone except the blacks. But american schools only focus on early Malcolm X
