This is the second time today I've posted a stupidly long comment on something game related, I will not judge you if you do not read it or mock any spelling mistakes.
Part of the reason for Pokémon lasting this long as a franchise is its ability to be played by young and old alike. Children find joy in the battling and collecting, adults enjoy these as well plus the small scale nostalgia we all get of our first time playing a Pokémon game and the added complexity that comes with EV training anding making a team to be respected.
Though I wont deny that the idea of a GTA scale Pokémon game intrigues me, I would not want the grandeur of it to be sacrificed for detail. What we need is for pokemon stadium, or whatever they want to call it next time, to be made into a 3DS game and next generation(whatever colours they call it) to be on the Wii or Wii U. The graphics would be better but not by too high a degree, the biggest change would be scale.
You choose your starting town from all previous generations plus two new ones, you can customize how you look and age to a degree so we dont have to look 10 years old(14?). After you defeat each Elite Four and sub plot, you unlock extra areas in each region and the ability to use Pokémon you caught in other region. So you can effectively play and complete all the games and in doing so earn the right to enter more areas and find more Pokémon and sub plots. The final main story challenge would be a true Elite Four, preferabley called the Heavenly Kings like in the original Japanese game.
The 3DS version of stadium would make battling friends a lot more interesting and would have its own story and bonus items.

I hate this fake nostalgia people. Saying only the 151 (Yes it's 151. You forgot Mew) first were the best. These people probably weren't even born in our generation. Yes Red and Blue started it all and it's better than all new pokemon editions combined. But hands down the true Pokemon fans all know the original Gold and Silver editions were the best Pokemon editions of all. Red is the most badass boss ever. Make it the first 251 Pokemon and you have the ultimate game.

I dont understand why some people diss on the new generations. Dont get me wrong, i love Pokemon, i especially enjoy the original Pokemon. BUT! I also enjoy the new generations. I welcome them. It gives me a sense of adventure and excitement just to see the new Pokemon. This is what a true Pokemon fan is. One who welcomes anything Pokemon related.
