Remember kids, when taking the square root, it's positive or negative.
sqrt( (5-9/2)^2 )= -sqrt( (4-9/2)^2 )
5-9/2= -(4-9/2)
5- 9/2 -9/2=-4
5-9=4
4=4
sqrt( (5-9/2)^2 )= -sqrt( (4-9/2)^2 )
5-9/2= -(4-9/2)
5- 9/2 -9/2=-4
5-9=4
4=4

lets just talk a look at the first one, troll#1 and troll#2 each have 100$. they each put 20$ in a box. so now they both have 80$. troll#1 sells that box for 30$ to troll#2. troll#1 now has 110$. troll#2 pays 30$ for the box. (his total is now 50$) but receives 40$ from inside the box, bring his total to 90$. troll#1 makes 10$ while troll#2 loses 10$. yeah i just fucked your troll logic.

He is at -20 from his starting point.
Then he spends 30 for the box.
He's at -50.
There is $40 in the box.
He is at -10.
The person selling makes $10 (Puts in 20 than sells for 30)the person buying loses $10
