hell yeah. nothing pisses me off than searching for a torrent for hours, then upon finding it, it has zero seeds. i always keep seeding until it uploads doubles the download. some i keep going longer...

i am pretty new to using utorrent for pirate bay ect and was wondering how long do i actually have to leave the download after it is finished to get a good seed ratio, i hear that the very least you should do is 1:1

Yeah. Depending on how fast it uploads, it might take three or four times as long as it took to download to get a 1:1 seed ratio. Of course, once it's finished, it doesn't cost you anything to just leave it there for a while.

o right, i downloaded the Naruto movies and it took 7 hours to do so (3.something GB) not sure if thats really slow but hey, there were not alot of seeds either so that might of been why it took so long

i did not know how long it takes for a good ratio of seeds so i had only left it for about 2 hours after it finished, its the only thing i have downloaded so far

Unless the maker of the software has a huge problem with piracy (which they usually dont), youll be fine. ISPs dont really care.

making piracy illegal is another way to create more jobs and bring in more revenue, that being said they usually try to find and prosecute the people that host torrent sites and upload 100's of gigs of stuff because they are easier to find than single users that just download ;)

Two things.
I have by this day downloaded the equivalent of the national earnings in Greece.
Also if they ever do catch me i doubt i'll be fined, i will be sent to my execution because if looking at it like i'm going to get fined 100k for every single illegal download i've made then i owe the game companies around 900 trillion dollars.
Oh and also i have pirated many games, but i do buy games i like. For example i'd rather preform seppuku than illegally download Skyrim.

EA are a bunch of money-hungry assholes, just like any publisher, doesn't mean they can't PUBLISH some humble, honest, hard-working developers game.

the reason for online passes is because buying used games is actually worse currently than pirating games.

people dont pirate that often any more because of so many console kiddies.
nevertheless trading in is not only easy to do (unlike pirating) and encouraged by many leadng gamestores

most people that pirate games buy games they really enjoyed, i pirate then buy.
i dont want to spend money game on a game that i dont enjoy.

once you buy a used game you dont think "oh you know what i really enjoyed this game, im going to buy the game"

The online pass is just the first logical step towards entirely online content. What they really want to do is have it so that you get it and can't sell it ever, which is why digital is what their so hot about right now. Doesn't matter to me, the online passes are stupid and rediculous, but feeling bad for the game stores is silly unless you're talking about a locally owned one, but the likes of gamestop are basically giving a collective "who gives a ****" stance on the online passes so i guess its just dumb. Every game i've bought used has come with it's online pass in the box lol and thats true for mass effect 2, alice 2, RE5 gold, and about 50 others, ya know.

Agreed on sports games. i don't give a ****, but they really only have a monopoly on football, and golf to a lesser extent. Do they have Hockey to themselves? It's hard enough to care about any digital sport to me lol.

**** you just gave me nostalgia, i played the **** out of that and MLB slugfest on my gamecube, only played like 5 sports games in my life alot, not one by EA. They have done a lot of good for some things though, Mirrors Edge/Dead space/Mass Effect are all pretty stellar games, granted, EA just published, but you can't point out the **** without remembering the gems.
