Two things that makes Canada superior too US (In the ways of laws)
1. RCMP (Our version of Police) are a lot more lenient about pot
2. Drinking age in most of Canada is 19, some parts its 18.

Actually you can, it's just not as powerful an addiction to, say, heroin, but you can, nonetheless develop an addiction to weed.

Watch the movie "reefer madness". It's the funniest shit, but in the 30's it pretty much laid the groundwork for it being illegalized. That, and Anslinger. He was a racist and black people liked their reefer.
To recap: Weed is less addictive than alcohol and doesn't cause a hangover or poisoning. Weed does contain carcinogens, but not as bad as tobacco and you don't generally smoke a pack of joints a day. It has medicinal qualities that have been used for thousands of years. The hemp plant fibers can be used to make paper, rope, clothing, and more.
But it's illegal. Mostly because of racism in 1930's america.
