Can you explain why Macs are so bad? I grant they're expensive and not tailored for gaming, but that's not a reflection on the quality of the computer.

Inb4 red thumbs and calling me a macfag - I use a PC, I just never got what was meant to be so bad about Macs.

I applaud you god sir. You proposed a mature argument over macs and PC's. Personally, I like both, and they both have different purposes.

Im a little late to respond to this but here goes...

This is pretty much a generic response that I give to anyone who asks this question: They are very restricted hardware AND software-wise. You can hardly upgrade any parts on an average Mac Pro and the specs arent very customizable to begin with. As for the software part, they are always closed source, they are very dumbed down and they actually have as many security holes, if not more than Windows. The only advantage that Macs have are that they are pretty hard to mess up. Their chassis is pretty durable and they dont usually get infected with spyware, but Im not even going to get into the Virus/spyware side of this argument.

I can speak from experience when I say that they just arent worth it. Hipster art kids may think that they are but realistically, you can get any editing program or an equivalent of it on Windows. I have a $1200 Macbook (It was a gift) and a $500 Dell laptop and the Dell is just more versatile and fun to use.

Macs are completely overpriced. That's why the joke is that you are getting fucked up the ass or whatever people say. PC's are completely customizable and upgradable. If you know a bit about computers, you will get a whole lot more out of a PC for your money than a Mac. The list goes on, but this is the biggest point in the argument. I'm completely a PC person. I've used macs, they aren't bad machines, they just aren't worth the money when you can have a PC instead.

So your argument was entirely price despite the fact the we have both said price isn't a reflection of the quality of the computer...

Let me put it this way:

The original comment was a Mac Hate pic. The question was posed, why are macs so bad. Macs are hated because Apple has tricked a great following of people into believing they are superior to PCs and worth the extra money. They are taking advantage of the ignorance in people with either enough money to not care, or who are just technologically inept. People who know computers and try to save money, know that Macs are pointless. Thats why Macs have so many haters on the internet; Apple rapes people in the wallet.

I didn't say anything about the quality did I? From a hardware standpoint you can get equivalent machines. The pic demonstrates that. My argument is that price is why you should buy a PC and not a Mac. If you like the Mac OS, you can run it on a PC. And you can run windows on a Mac. So functionality aside, from a purely hardware standpoint, there is no point in buying a Mac. A PC will be cheaper, you can upgrade it when better parts come out, you can customize everything ab out it pretty easily. When a better part for a Mac comes out and you want it, you have you buy the newest Mac, and thus waste more money.

So again price... I don't think you understand the concept of price doesn't define the computer. Yes they are expensive, I've made no attempt to deny that, I don't know why you keep going on about that, but if we ignore price they're really not that bad.

I don't think you understand the point I'm making. I'm not arguing that macs are bad machines. I'm explaining why people hate them. Which is really what your first question was about. Your first question was an inquiry upon the massive amount of hatred on the internet for Macs. You asked why macs are bad, the truth is they aren't. People don't hate macs because they are bad machines. If that is the reason, then that is a massive bit of ignorance. Macs can be just as powerful as a PC, they can run Windows, they can run windows games, it just takes some computer know-how. So what I'm saying is that macs aren't bad. They are just hated because they are not worth the money, and they are way too limiting to the user. Someone who knows computers will want to customize it and truly unlock its potential. That is damn near impossible on a mac. That's why they are hated, not because they are just bad. Does that make sense at all?

It makes sense, but I never tried to justify the price. I won't try and defend how much they cost - it's not possible.

and thats pretty much the whole basis of the mac vs pc argument. macs suck cuz they cost too much and you cant customize em.

That's my point. It's designed for a different function, so you can't use gaming as the basis of an argument in this case.

That right there is a mature argument that actually told my WHY Macs are bad. It gave me specific flaws and and details. You listed so many features that are bad and told me exactly why. That argument didn't at all convince me that in fact you've never given Macs a chance and you only hate them because the internet told you to.

So it's a personal dislike. My school has them and I've never come across any problems with them. The icons are at the other side and you have to press the apple button to right click, if that's what getting fucked in the ass feels like I don't see what the big deal is.

You call me twinkletits yet you can compare something to getting fucked in the ass. To make that comparison you must have been fucked in the ass. So surely out of the two of us you'd be twinkletits.

That still doesn't really explain WHY, only what your thought of the mac.

IE is basically bloatware. It takes up 2-3x as much memory as Chrome does and it is very unsupported in terms of add ons.

whats the point of add ons? also by memory u mean hardrive or RAM

Addons like adblocker, tineye, keypass, etc. They are just little things that tinker with settings or add something to the browser. They arent really necessary. By memory, I mean RAM. The newest version of IE is actually decent but every single one before that was just a memory hog.
