No, actually. It's like this. It's like their bodies go backwards through time and become juvenile again. Think of it like this; say you're 90 years old, or some ungodly high age like that. But over replication is not the over replication of cells, it is a misfire in the job of protein... 113 maybe? I am not sure, I had biology last year. Cancer is actually just a mutation and protein 113 checks all of the replication to see if it is correct.... therefore malfunctioning by missing the cancerous malfunction.

and even if it wasn't; cancer cells leech nutrients from the rest of the body in order to keep duplicating. your body breaks down all reserves muscles and even vital organs for the cells to keep duplicating.

they're useless strings of DNA at the ends to prevent important gene sequences from being destroyed. during cell replication, parts of the ends are lost, so the telomeres are there so nothing important is lost.

In theory they do. Once telomeres get cleaved off, important genes in the chromosomes start being cleaved, which means those proteins won't be synthesised, or they will not have their intended function. As more and more of the chromosome gets cleaved off with each replication, less and less functional protein is produced. This is one of the reasons why we age - Proteins responsible for collagen formation or repair-proteins are not synthesised and therefore our skin becomes wrinkly, our organs go bad, etc.
If telomerase was turned on, it would make telomeres indefinitely... Meaning telomeres would continuously be cleaved, allowing functional proteins to be made.
Basically - Without telomeres, we age and die of body breakdown. With telomeres, our body systems don't breakdown due to a lack of functional proteins.

That is true, except telomerase are only turned on in the sex cells and not the somatic cells. It is to prevent sex cells from degrading, and at the same time remove necessary population who had aged past their reproductive years and are still alive.
