Apparently, (not my opinion) Rowling stole the idea of the werewolf jacob black from twilight and then didn't even bother to change the second name (Sirius Black, even though he's an animagus, not a werewolf).

It's stuff like that, little things.

Because werewolves only exist in those two book series, and same for the name Black.
Oh, btw Remus Lupin is the Werewolf, Sirius Black is an animagus who turns into a dog.

Also Sirius Black is mentioned in the first book in the very first chapter so there is no way that Rowling copied the name since it was at least eight years before the twilight book came out.

It was set in the time period that book #1 was released. Being that Harry was 11 in 91 and he only aged a year as each year in the book went by it makes perfect sense.

... I didn't notice that in the deathly part 1, still an interesting fact though.

I don't think that Rowling really wanted to have her work set in a certain time period, but she couldn't leave the date out of the gravestone.
