I know for a fact that when you get set on fire your body quickly goes into shock and you don't feel it for a couple of minutes. So you'd either die before the pain sets in or you'd only feel it AFTER you extinguish the flames. I know because I got caught on fire when I was 10 and didn't feel any extreme pain until halfway to the hospital.
