i thought it was Notch being a dick because he was trying to get copyright on the name "scrolls", which could mean he could then easily sue bethesda. Thats what ive heard, so so far im in favour of bethesda. If that isnt whats going on could soemone please tell me what is.

He was trying to trademark(not copyright) a video game set in the fantasy genre with a card game based focus under the name "Scrolls". Not the word, just the very specific combination of elements that make up his products image. Zenimax(Bethesda's legal and publish branch - Bethesda are only the makers of the games) took exception to this and are suing because apparently "Scrolls" can be confused with "The Elder Scrolls", despite nobody - including Bethesda - actually calling the games "The Elder Scrolls N: Shamaladingdong", it's always just "Shamaladingdong".

Basically it's the legal department being lawers and causing a stink - if you're dumb enough to confuse a 2d card game with a 3d action rpg, you deserve to waste the money, but legally they have grounds.

I'd say whoever told you about it is either a notch or minecraft hater, and you should probably ignore them. He's a bit of a weirdo, but I'm yet to see anything that's dickish from him.

Bethesda is a huge company with lots of players to pick from. Notch barely has any more than 3 employees. I know who's going to win this.

they should agree to it because no matter who won, they all win
>brief overview of whats happening
>record the matches
>interviews with the players
>throw it up on machinima and get some add revenue
>everyone talks about it and help drum up sales for both elder scrolls 5 and notch's new game
but bethsada are dicks so they will probably just go with a lawsuit
