Did you notice that 200 years ago, people didn't have as many medical conditions as they do today? Everything from Diabetes to Cancer; from a slipped disk in the back to the mild headache, it seems like 200 years ago, people weren't sick as much.
Bullshit. The problem is how close you look at something. Look at your body, and you will find problems. The same goes for every society. People think America is so fucking terrible because everyone scrutinizes it. Yeah, you know what, our elderly people sometimes ONLY have social security and medicare (god forbid!). Sometimes our troops are mocked as baby killers (circa Vietnam).
But you know what? Every socicety has it's fucking problems. In spain, there is 21% unemployment. THAT IS WHAT IT WAS DURING THE GREAT DEPRESSION. In Europe, the euro is on the brink of disaster if Italy gets sucked into the same situation that Greece is in. In china, the 1 child per family law is still in effect, and religion is persecuted upon imprisonment and death. Political opponents are locked up for their lifetimes. In Norway and Denmark, anti-immigration sentiment is tearing the country apart.
Everyone has fucking problems. Did you know that in Canada in 2004 there were more MRI machines in the state of New Mexico than in the entire fucking country?
As far as the world's problems go, the United States has it pretty fucking good.
Shut the fuck up and enjoy life.
