Well, I don't know how it could have been written out. But I'm thinking something like, Harry still has the 8th horcrux within him, and all the other 7 are destroyed. So Harry starts the final battle with Voldemort, but before he does he tells Ron., "You have to kill me to make sure he never comes back." So Harry kills Voldemort, and Ron kills Harry thus destroying the 8th horcrux as well, and that's it. Now wouldn't that be a horrible, epic, tragic, and tear-jerking moment?

Now im not saying it should have been written that way, but I think rowling should have found some way to kill Harry

I just realized...if Harry's cloak of invisibility was THE cloak of invisibility from the story, and supposedly the ONLY of it's kind......then Ron REALLY understated the gravity of the situation when he said "Those are REALLY rare" when Harry got it for Christmas in the first movie.
