its not a character, not from katakana, hiragana or kanji (so far i know) atleast.. its a buddhist sign they have infront of all their temples and shrine.. Dont know its meaning tho.

Erm, no the symbol 卐 is a Swatstika. The word Swatstika comes from the Sanskrit word svastika, meaning any lucky or auspicious object. This symbol was used long before the Hindu religion was established, and it's used for the same reason in both the nazi flag and in hindu architecture (to symbolize luck).
