The opposite thing happened to me on my friends' server. I wanted to build some epic shit but my friend wouldn't op me. Then, just to piss me off, he op'd everyone else but me. I'm pretty sure he did it because I broke the "no swearing rule (which we only had because one of out members was a hardcore, no "profanity" christian) all the time. later on, I eventually decided to get my own resources, so I asked for some diamond tools to make it easier and they still wouldn't even spawn it for me. Eventually they started fucking with the things I built and I raged at them, so instead of banning me they tried to lock me in a box and chased me around with golden swords when I escaped. Finally, I broke through a glass wall trying to get away and they banned me for greifing. Now that I look back, those guys were complete cuntsacks.
