It's realatively easy to avoid the (now only outdoor) smoking crowds. Don't socialize with people who smoke. If your friends smoke then ask them to not smoke in your face, ask them to go outside, or you go outside when they smoke. Leave the table they're sitting at, or stop being a pussy and inhale. BTW, there's no evidence that concludes that second hand smoking is dangerous, but there is evidence that inhaling car exhaust is. So the only question is ofcourse if we should ban cars or roads first? Oh wait, people with a drivers license perhaps? Seriously, man the fuck up and stop worrying about other peoples shit.
That is all

Walking down the street I witness second hand smoking almost every day, especially in the city. I attempt to hold my breath for as long as I can. Passive smoking causes 80% of the effects of actually smoking. You're obviously a smoker yourself. At least cars actually get us somewhere.

Oh my dear god.
FIrst of all, no, I don't smoke myself. However, I make other unhealthy choices, and I don't want to live in a world where other people pretends to know what's best for me.
As for the cars, people who run in cities often have "smokers lunges" even though they don't smoke. You don't have to be closer to the exhaust than Sidewalk to road. And btw you know that I was sarcastic about banning cars right?! My point was that there's danger everywhere. And chances are that you will get run over, or die from random cancer or blood cloth due to excessive bitching on the internet while sitting still and eating cheetos. However, you will most likely NOT die from walking past a smoking crowd. I think the chances are greater that you will pass out from holding your breath and die from the fall

You guys still don't get it do you? Do you really not see the dangers of having other people decide what's good for you and effectively taking away your free will and the right to live how you like? What I'm trying to say is that that's far more dangerous than any chemicals you can possible stuff down your (or anybody elses) throats

What is legal to do in public and what is legal to do in private are 2 very different things. No one (well, maybe some assholes) wants to take away the right to smoke, just the right to blow it in other people's faces that don't want to breath it in.
