What I found interesting was that, when you did it correctly, the machine used only that wee needle. But if you fucked up, all these unecessary crazy metal appendages came out of fucking nowhere and did things as if the machine was designed to kill you, not perform delicate medical procedures.

I'm not entirely sure HOW it's supposed to work, but basically it's supposed to extract and interpret all the information that the Marker put in Issac's head when he found it in DS1, so that these insane fucks could make even more Markers, though God knows why they'd want that.
