whats up with that is that the religion is based on everything that is wrong with the world...totally against women rights, in favor of beating wife and children, treating people like slaves, constant murder and corruption, belief that murder is the way to a fruitful afterlife...those are the basic reasons we say gtfo of our country :)

Also the christian religion is not perfect either, it was never an advocate of providing rights to women, it never held positions against the beatings of wife and children, for it actually sometimes promoted that. Murder, corruption, slavery, and murder of non-christians and those who commit heirisy used to be a major part of it, but it is the culture of the people around that have changed into a more humane fashion which has not allowed some of this, but the roots of some of it are still present, such as some anti-gay movements.

I know you probably don't beat woman, and if a man does today, it's probably not because he is christianithy. The religion itself did not promote beating, but people were able to find excuse for it in some cases (as in the koran) . What's more evident was discrimination against women which was much more prominent. society has changed though

Christianity, Judaism, and Islam also created the patriarch society which is still slightly reminiscent in the world we live today (was much more prominent not too long ago .) This lead the to the discrimination against women. Many civilizations before these jeudo-christian religions worshiped the woman as a representation of life and nature (ie, prostitutes as 'healers')

No, the muslim religion is not about murder. It is about peace and love just like christianity. There are some loopholes and the few amount of extreme fundamentalists use them as an EXCUSE for the terrorism they commit. The reason for this is that it is is a book meant to be 'listened to' not read and analyzed as closely as possible. You obviously don't know much about the Qu'ran and I recommend you get to know a few things before posting.

If it says "all people are created equal", why does the same book say to kill all non-Christians and homosexuals? We could both nitpick quotes all we want but that will lead us nowhere. The fact is the christian church has had a history of discriminating against women and has created a patriarchal society (contributed to by Islam and Judaism also).

so basically what I'm saying is i know my religion is not perfect...but if you wish to point out a flaw make sure it is true...with Muslims i can in fact say that a majority believe that murder is the way to a good afterlife of "72 virgins" and stuff like that because it is based of true material...not all of them for sure but the reason its a stereotype is because it happens constantly to innocent people for no reason

it actually does not say that anywhere :) you have been horrible mistaken in fact it does tell of a story of a leader who was torturing and killing his followers to convert to Christianity (commonly recognized by the elephant whip that was used) until a follower of Jesus came and told him that no man is to be forced into a belief that he himself does not truly believe in his own heart...and that again from the Bible...what my religion is based on...again it says nowhere to kill all non-Christians and homosexuals...if you do recall the 10 commandments "thou shalt not kill" and yes i understand my religion is not perfect and has a questionable history...although i am Pentecostal and the Crusades and such were committed by the Catholics

your talking about the story of the cheating wife i believe? well if you do recall that story goes like this: wife cheats on husband, husband finds out, back then it is worthy of death, they decide to stone her, as the crowd gathers around the girl Jesus steps in front and says the famous quote "Let he who hath not sinned cast the first stone" so i say AGAIN it never says to murder not hint towards it...it discourages it in every way as it is a part of the foundation of Christianity (10 commandments)

nah there are two exact quotes that literally say to stone to death those that I already described, also children who disrespect their parents. I believe one is in Leviticus. But that was never the point all along. I didn't want this to turn into an argument on this stuff. This was about misinterpretations on Islam all along. I have to go, but I suggest you read "when god was a woman" to get more of an insight on what I mean on how Christianity (mainly) and Islam and Judaism created the patriarchal society we are in (which lead to discrimination against women within Christianity).

Maybe it may not be in newer versions. But if it is, the quotes are irrelevant anyway for that reason: society has evolved. Another thing I suggest people read is a short essay called "unholy strictures" by Karen Armstrong on how the Bible and Koran were never meant to be read, but meant to be listened to. The fact that some people (ie, extremists) can pick and choose quotes within the book and use them as justification for their acts such as terrorism. When literacy was very low in the middle ages, religious leaders who were able to read the bible and koran emphasized the passages about love and forgiveness and read them over and over, a lot more than other passages.
