Grades 4 through 9 we are forced to learn french... about 10%ish of Canada is french speaking, but they dont have to fucking learn english. Fuck them.

Percentage of French speaking Quebecers : 80.1%
So there are approximately 6,384,509 french-speaking Quebecers
(6,384,509/34,478,00)*100 = ~18.52% of french-speaking Canadians ( this does not include francophone communities in Manitoba or New-Brunswick)
Secondly, school in Quebec has 6 years of Elementary school, 5 years of Highschool. Since the new change made by the government a few years ago, Quebecers attending french schools have English classes from 3rd year of Elementary school up to the last year of Highschool. If they go to college they get one more year with english classes.

it's only in quebec that french is primary, and thats just cause theres more french there than english, so that's just common sense.
And while Trudeau was very ahted in the west, he did give us our fundamental freedoms and rights,
so he did do some good. not to mention destroying a band of terrorists. (which was badass.)

There are some countries like that:
Finland has 2 Official languages, Finnish and Swedish but the majority speaks Finnish. Switzerland has 4 : German, French, Italian and Romanch but the majority speaks German. Same goes for Luxemburg, Belgium and Afghanistan.
Plus, IF they would make english the only Official language, that would only help the independantist cause in Quebec.

Actually when Quebec (called New France back then) has been invaded the British tried to assimilate the Quebecers.
In the 1800s, Lord Durham wrote the "Report on the Affairs of British North America". In that report he said that Quebecers didn't have any culture and that it was better for them to be assimilated.
Unfortunately for him, that only made Quebecers harder to assimilate. So you should blame him for that.

they would hold it at the same value as an american 5. I did just that and got some kick ass shoes really cheap for just that reason.
