n...o... line 6 = suck my balls... all tube DIAMOND with tube screamer, octavian boost, rolland labs PRO eq most metal tones not to mention amazing cleans but line 6 = crappy digital thin sound BUT on a teenager budget or just a beginner OK fine enjoy it while it last for 3 years tops.

oh shut the **** up. If all depends on what you play. Line 6 can be very good for some people, Diamond for others. Fender, Marshal, Orange Box, Etc... are all different in their own ways and all decent to good amps.

You are correct but in my experience line six just should not be taken seriously even for practice. no professional musician uses them for a reason. All the amp models you listed are quality amplifiers that any musician would be proud to use, I just use my rig as an example of quality. And yes I'm aware not every one can afford these amps but hey I'm no rich fag I'm a regular guy like every one else but just like some people have flat screens, or supper gaming computers I invest my money in quality musical equipment.

It would make me feel very good man, I'm glad you gained incite from this conversation. Some corn ball line like "live like you would die tomorrow" never really conveys the same message but its really the standard of living we should all abide by because what if its not there tomorrow? for Christs sake on your way to work some one could decide its your time to die and kill you for no reason or you could be hit because of a freak accident you could be chilling at home playing your guitar and a gas leak could take it all away or some trolling ass meteor could destroy us all =] any ways enough of that depressing **** have fun man!

Yeah, I'm going into 2nd year university and I'm deciding as to whether or not I should return, when there I so many other things i'd rather be doing. I want to start taking my music more seriously and apply to some schools. I also want to travel for 4 months in africa and europe. I think I know which route to take in part thanks to you.
Just think, with 10k I could spend on 1 semester, I could spend it all on an amazing instrument and some gear.

I'm paid to play and write music so yes that makes one a professional, I am however not a professional guitarist. I play Cello in the Chicago metro symphony as well as write for anything in the string family (yes that includes piano) and I have a minor in world percussion studies along with a Masters in music theory.

Yeah, allright.
Point is , to each his own. Some prefer line 6 and others don't.
It's all good.

simple way to test "to each his own" would you rather have the Fender, marshal, orange, ENGL, Mesa or Diamond amp OR would you rather have a line 6 spider series? Any one in their right mind will chose the quality and performance of those amps over a line 6 if that's all you can afford well that's fine good for you for playing the instrument you love but if your serious about your tone and the quality of your sound invest. Some of the comments I made where I admit unnecessarily harsh considering this is not a music forum or site but still my point remains you want to sound exceptional? Invest in gear to match your talent.

I'm not ranting i just refuse to believe that any one would choose the line 6 you mad bro? Lol I enjoy this the ability to make one ass hole angry over nothing just by typing a few paragraphs about what I enjoy this either proves your aiming for an argument or jealousy of another knowledge / possessions / accomplishments. If I just kept saying "oh my god line 6 sucks balls my ***** so much better blah blah blah" then you could be mad for a legitimate reason but I'm not I'm just stating opinions and facts and you are angered by it.

The POD is a different story it is made for recording and for practice and in those confines it is a great little piece of gear. I keep a pocket pod next to my bed along with a 2003 fender road worn and a cheapy pair of sony headphones for jamming out while the girlfriend sleeps =P
