USA beats Germany AND Japan? Oh well here I thought it was a collective victory by the allies in Germany. Don't forget Canada, I mean we just endured the harshest fighting in Italy, freed the Dutch, and were the only ones to complete their objectives on D-Day on time.

In fact the ones that did the most were the Soviets. 1/3rd of the whole German military was pulled away from the Western front in order to fight the soviets in stalingrad.

It was a joint effort. Thanks to Russia, Germany had to fight on two fronts, which weakened their forces. During the invasion of Normandy, the USA took two of the five beaches, the rest were taken by British, Canadian, Australian troops. The Russians were the ones who attacked Berlin. I hardly think America could take down Germany and Japan single-handedly.

All hail the american education system!

your country is based on distrust of the goverment and power to the people. the self indulgent patriotic attitude has led to the top one percent of the people getting a quarter of every penny earned per year. your "we am number one" attitude has blinded parents and led to trickle down overindulgence of the economy, with lowering taxes for the rich, and the disbanding of unions for the poor, who's money shrinks every day due to inflation. the idea that you did anything more then third gun in both world wars is nothing but sillyness and patriotic water drowning the senses of the public. pay attention to the facts, so yes, america did do a lot in the war. but of the major allies? they did the least

The US were never really kicking arse because they were always fighting on the terms of the Viet Cong (and so could never exterminate them) as well as the US and South Vietnamese forces never taking Hanoi. The 85% you give is vastly incorrect and probably made up as most of the fighting was against the Viet Cong with a lot against the NVA (North Vietnamese Army). The Chinese mostly backed up the North with weapons and money and only a small number of Chinese troops were involved in engagements.

There weren't that many Chinese in Vietnam, you are thinking of the Korean War. The Viet Cong and NVA were heavily backed by the USSR and China but in equipment rather than men. The US realized that they could not take on either of the USSR or China without suffering huge casualties and with a massive chance of being defeated so tried not to engage either of them over the Vietnam War. (The US suffered heavy casualties in the Korean war against the Chinese and were pushed back to the tip of South Korea until the Chinese generals were bribed to no longer commit their troops properly).

May be I can explain this a little bit better, So, the way the United States runs is that there has to be a vote over basically everything, with that being said the vote that was said to have the war between us and the Vietcong was called "A Police Action" that is why America was in Iran because it was a "Police Action" but I'm getting off track. Any-who when the marines were getting ass creamed by the Vietcong Reagan (I think that was the president at the time) basically said "Oh ****, we are sending in more troops but they aren't coming back. Get them out quickly" but, yeah that would be kinda surrendering but I'm not sure.

Britain were fairly great, the revolutionary war was fought against an american rebel force with greater numbers and more condensely spread (as a lot of the British forces were garrisoned all over the place). Also Britain were fighting other wars in India and Europe at the time and so did not have anywhere near its full fighting force at hand. At the time, the British army was in huge dept and a major money sink for Britain and so training and committing more men was out of the question and with the lands in India thought to have been richer and more important, keeping America had low priority.

I am pretty certain that if Britain had used its army to full potential, it would have sweped aside the rebels although may have lost other colonies such as India and I would be having the same conversation with someone from India instead. Although all this is fairly hypothetical it is safe to say that Britain had over-expanded its armed forces so could not have kept all its colonies at the time.

This may be true. But, the reason why Britain didn't use their full force nor have had the supplies to supply their entire force because of the war debt they were in when they fought against France I think, it may be the Spanish any-who also, there was a MAJOR factor in the fight against the "Rebels" was the distance from the "New land" and from Great Britain so that being said, It would take I would say a few months before Great Britain's troops would get there because of the long ride from a ship. Also, some of those troops would probably die on those ships because of supply shortages. And by the time they would get there the "Rebels" could have already taken control over the "New Land". Thank you for the read guten dacht.

Said most of that in previous posts, but the distance was something I didn't really consider as the British had been able to keep Australia and India under control through rebellions, although the distance would still be a big factor.

I'm American and I want an awesome, multicolored coin worth $1 over this ****** $1 bill anyday.
Hell, I still have a few of the coins from when I went to Montreal. Nice place, that one.

I think their currency came first, so that means Loonie Toons was named after a coin. Go figure.
