For all that don't know, here's basically what happened:
Family Guy has recycled scripts. That is, the scripts that don't go on the show. American Dad was created as the show that would get these recycled scripts, that way, they wouldn't go to waste. Here's what they didn't plan on, though: American Dad was actually a success. So what did they do? They made a show for the recycled scripts that didn't make the cut for American Dad, ie the Cleveland Show. And now, Seth MacFarlane has three shows all running off of Family Guy scripts, and his only competition is the Simpsons, a show that's been on life support for a while now. Seth's very smart, and personally, I think the only one that isn't funny is the Cleveland Show.
