I do believe I have found an official answer. She was specifically created for one purpose, and one purpose only. In the japanese lyrics (credit to user xyzofhalo for finding them), the guy singing the song says "I'll get you pokemon, even if in fire, in water, in grass, in forests, in ground, in clouds, even in that girl's skirt". That is her sole purpose. To be the head of a dirty joke in the opening sequence. She was based off of the Lass trainer class. If you look, you may be able to find an interview with Satoshi about how there were plans to use her as BLUE, but this never happened by the time the first season ended, so her character served no purpose beyond the opening sequence. So basically she is no more than a dirty joke, even if

*Even if there were plans for her to be more, she never got to see that role played out for her. In my professional opinion, that is all.

She is a Lass trainer (obviously). There's some speculation that she may be Giselle from the episode "School of Hard Knocks" but with a different outfit ( http://www.mojvideo DOT com/video-pokemon-009-the-school-of-hard-knocks/00ea0cde4679c658dbbb ) but i highly doubt that. The girl in the pic has shorter hair than Giselle. Other thoughts lean towards her being from the original japanese anime series, in which case, it would take some serious searching (i have a free night with nothing better to do, why the **** not?). If this si the case, then that would be the reason no one seems to know who she is. Either way, I'm on a mission to find this girl. Time to go watch some more pokemon.

From what everyone is saying on the link in youtube, shes a girl in the crowd in an episode of "Dig Those Diglett", but that isn't right. Here's a link to the episode http://vodpod DOT com/watch/2504483-pokemon-episode-31-dig-those-diglett (dont forget to remove the spaces and put in the actual dot and all that). I'm pretty sure I've seen her SOMEWHERE in the series before, but I'm still looking around. If I find more, I'll let you know.

awesome :D if i cant find her, dedz definitely go to Izen (the guy below me) because as of late, I've been reading a lot of said theories about the Pokemon world, and the one he stated definitely seems legit. Although, I don't know why her younger self would be in the opening...
