Theyre discontinuing the A-10 Thunderbolts (warthogs) which sucks huge cock. Those ******* were the most badass flying guns in the history of mankind

What are they replacing it with because i read they weren't scheduled to be replaced till almost 2030.

theoretically they want to replace it with the F-16. But i personally believe that they will never entirely do away with the A-10's. They're record is just too flawless to replace. There is also some speculation about the F-35 being a possible replacement candidate. But who knows. Im in the Marines, i dont see to many planes. Im more ground combat and Armor

It's unlikely they will replace the A-10 any time soon, its just to good at what it does, and nothing will every be as good and inexpensive (relatively speaking) as the A-10.

they are discontinuing its production but it will continue to be in service in-till 2020 (military ch. is the ****)

most epic aircraft...EVER! the egg heads in the pentagon keep trying to scrap it because its not some technical marvel, which is actually one the things it's pilots love about it. read some mission logs from the first gulf war and you hear about A-10s that had entire engines blown off, half the tail gone, and yet still able to fly back to base. plane is a beast with depleted uranium rounds as teeth.
