Actually, the tissue around the gunshot wound will swell up making it almost unnoticeable depending on the size of the round, causing little bleeding due to the fact that blood is barely able to get through. An exit wound from the round is another story.

I agree these are more interesting than creepy. But the tonsil one, that one is just plain creepy (mine were removed 10 years ago). Especially because it failed so often.
