Cats are way better than dogs, imo.

I'm not saying I disagree but I have a cat and all he does is run around outside, come home just for food and sleep. Then he leaves without giving a **** about the family.

well my cats comes at night sleep on me. if u dun give a **** about cats, they dun give a **** about u. dogs comes to beg ur attention, regardless if u like them or not. cats have their own dignity

...... Dogs can protect u more then a cat if u train it right......BUT ..cats dnt **** ur leg when ur distracted o.o
User avatar #12 to #11 - koneella (02/11/2011) [-]
have u ever though of defending yourself?
User avatar #17 to #12 - satanisthesavior (02/11/2011) [-]
I second this. If you are relying on a dog to defend you from things then what you should really invest in is some self-defense courses or a handgun (or both).

Well, I like cats because they are soft, fuzzy and pick-up-able (small dogs are neurotic and bigger dogs cannot easily be held in a way that allows for petting as well, and dogs tend to have rougher fur than cats). Also, they **** in a box of sand, which is far easier to clean than a yard (or the sidewalk). They eat less, and they don't require daily walks. Also, dogs tend to want to be near you even if you want to be left alone. Cats, on the other hand, tend to not really give a **** whether you want to be alone or pet/hug them and are fine being left alone to sleep most of the time but are okay with affection when you feel like giving it.

Also, if you let a cat outside, it is smart enough to come back most of the time. dogs, not so much.

True. They both have their ups and downs, I guess. Personally I wish I had a dog right now, lol.
User avatar #7 to #4 - satanisthesavior (02/11/2011) [-]
I agree, a dog is an excellent pet. BUT, they require more work than I care to put into keeping a pet. Cat's aren't the best pets, but they are almost retardedly low maintenance and are nearly impossible to **** up since they are basically trained for everything they will ever need to do in life by the time you take one home as a kitten at 6+weeks old.
User avatar #8 to #7 - NaziBish (02/11/2011) [-]
Over 6 weeks old only? Isn't that too young? When I got my cat I was made to wait until it was about 2 months, saying it needs to learn to eat by itself and not from the mother.
User avatar #16 to #8 - satanisthesavior (02/11/2011) [-]
Sorry, 8 weeks. Koneella is right, however most people use 8 weeks not 2 months as months can vary in length (and 8 weeks is about 2 months). But yes, only a few weeks to learn everything it needs to know to survive as a house cat. The cat basically comes "pre-assembled," if you will.

Dogs, on the other hand, can require up to a year in constant training from the owner AFTER being taken away from the mother cause the only thing the mother really teaches them to do is how to **** .

Lol, I see. Do you have a cat or a dog? Just curious.

I do not have any pets but my mom has two cats (I help take care of them but she buys all the litter and food and such). Since I can remember, my family has had 6 cats (4 of which have died, obviously), one dog and one parakeet. The dog was a beagle, we had her for a few years but ended up getting her put to sleep because she was very aggressive (I, at my ever-so-intelligent age of 9 at the time, argued that we should just get a ******* cage, cause the cage was cheaper than the $200 the vet was charging to perform the euthanization and if we kept her in a cage when people were over she wouldn't be able to bite anyone).

Oh, and the bird chirped incessantly and **** all over the place.
User avatar #21 to #20 - NaziBish (02/11/2011) [-]
XD Lol'd at the bird. Sounds fun to have one. Sorry about the other cats. My dog died recently too, it's hard when you're an animal lover.
User avatar #22 to #21 - satanisthesavior (02/11/2011) [-]
Well, I was actually fascinated by death. I know, I'm ****** up. The first cat liked to sleep underneath my moms car, so you can see how that one ended badly. She didn't kill the cat completely though so we had to euthanize it (I held it while they did the euthanizing cause my mom was too emotional to do it). Two of the others got run over (we found them and buried them) and the last one just kinda... disappeared... My mom let it out and it never came back. No signs that it got attacked or anything though, it just kinda vanished.

But honestly, death doesn't bother me that much. I guess I just realize that being sad over something being dead won't bring it back so I skip the sad phase and go right back to perfectly fine.
User avatar #23 to #22 - NaziBish (02/11/2011) [-]
Lol, you're not ****** up, I know worse. It's not the same for me tho, must say. I care for animals' deaths. More than for humans that is.

p.s. I feel like a jerk, we all barked here so much but this guy's pic got only 3 thumbs, lol.
User avatar #24 to #23 - satanisthesavior (02/11/2011) [-]
I don't care about human deaths either. Seriously, when I was at my grandfathers funeral, the most interesting thing there was the way the skin on my grandfathers forehead felt. Seriously, I was intrigued by a dead body. So ****** up.
User avatar #9 to #8 - koneella (02/11/2011) [-]
they can be sold to others after 2 months but they can eat and take care of themselves very young
User avatar #10 to #9 - NaziBish (02/11/2011) [-]
