We came to WW1 "late" because we thought our European allies could handle themselves. We were wrong and we had to clean house.
We came to WW2 "late" because we thought our European allies could at least handle the nazis. We were wrong and we had to destroy 2 of the most powerful countries on the planet at the time.
Nam? We didnt even care about nam. You realize that there was no american real objective in nam? We were trying to kill as many viet cong as possible then leave, which we did.

Crazyknight (12/10/2009) [-] Read up on some history asshole Americans didn't solve anything they killed over a million Japanese Civilians after having MILITARY TARGETS bombed, they went completely against the rules of [url deleted] fact the people who did some of the most were the Canadians in WW1 they liberated the most of France, in fact the Germans Named them Sturmtruppen or 'Stormtroopers' due to their tenacity and how they traveled through the worst weather. In WW2 the contribution was no less then it was before, When the assault on Normandy ( America's general idea when they hear WW2) Happened the only ones to reach their objectives Were... guess who ? The Canadians, also I might add, while using Hobart's funnies which all the other allies didn't want to use.

aha guess what, we were supporting the south Vietnamese, we were doing fine until we pulled out, then the south Vietnamese got there asses kicked when we weren't there anymore. We didn't lose,we simply backed out and let the Vietnamese fight their own war. it was actually the south Vietnamese that lost, not the U.S. And we pretty much saved all the European's asses in WWII, we ended the war in three years. and you would have been in WWI for a lot longer if you didn't get help from the U.S. Why don't you quit being so stuck up and respect the U.S. for the fact that you would be speaking German right now if it wasn't for us.And we didn't even need to join those wars, they were in Europe not America.

Actually, you didnt. Soviet Russia didnt recieve military aid from the U.S, and crushed German forces single handedly, and would have rushed Germany regardless. I admit, we would have been in the war longer, but hey, we saved the French (Slimey Bastards).

1. The Vietnam war was between north and south Vietnam. Americans didn't "loose", they just quit.
2. Nobody 'wins' a war, a bunch of people die and then a bunch more people hate each other for decades because they killed so many of each other.

Before you go on a rampage maybe you should go check up on your history. Check the reasons why America was late for WW2. Too lazy? It was a European War. America didn't want anything to do with Europe since that's how America happened; people came to America to be free from that place. And back then people were very naive. Also, the forefathers said to stay away from being pulled into a war with Europe. And so America turned to isolationism. And two questions for you. What are YOU doing to help the world? I happen to be taking History at advanced level, i know what happened. It was a European War, but are you sure America was just going to roll over sideways? They entered the war due to Japan anyway, so it was self serving regardless.
