Easy. The months of September, October, November and December were supposed to be the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th month respectively. But back in the time of Julius and Augustus Caesar, being that they wanted to be remembered, they used their names and placed them in the calendar as July for Julius and August for Augustus. Hence, pushing the last 4 months of the year 2 months ahead of their respective prefixes. Game. Set. Match. Your move.
