Guns are a big problem in America?
Looks like they are an even bigger solution
User avatar #226 to #111 - aussieftw ONLINE (09/30/2013) [-]
You don't need a solution if there's no problem
User avatar #237 to #226 - capslockrage (09/30/2013) [-]
But there will always be a problem, that's where gun haters go wrong.

People will ALWAYS be able to get guns illegally.

I'm not a gun hater or anything, I just don't really agree with this guys statement, but I do acknowledge his point of view

If the US banned guns, everybody should get swords.

Think about it, if a store is getting robbed then a badass sword-fight would break out.
User avatar #108 to #25 - mexicandudeinsd (09/30/2013) [-]
or you would get shot by a criminal that has a gun....
User avatar #45 to #25 - commontroll (09/30/2013) [-]
Sword fights really aren't as flashy and awesome as movies make them out to be. Maybe a parry or two, and then one would be stabbed, scream, and bleed for about six minutes, while still trying to fight as best as he can. They're not very elegant compared to what most people imagine.
User avatar #212 to #45 - thesinful (09/30/2013) [-]
It's called Flynning. You spin, and hit each others swords, maybe flip a bit. Of course there's also the fact that really sword fighting that way is a wonderful way to break your sword.
User avatar #207 to #25 - lesrin (09/30/2013) [-]
as much as i would love this, i have to point out, bad guys follow laws, and youll end up like the indian guy who trys to sword fight indiana jones and just gets shot

...and here I was thinking I was pro gun.
#253 to #25 - John Cena (09/30/2013) [-]
The thing is even a retarded monkey can fire a gun. To actually wield and fight with a sword you have to have physical endurance and strength. Give the america swords and suddenly everyone is fit.
#251 to #25 - John Cena (09/30/2013) [-]
As amazing as that sounds, i doubt the guy robbing you will care much for gun laws.
#199 to #25 - John Cena (09/30/2013) [-]
or the criminals getting guns illegally will keep getting guns illegally and then the guy with the sword gets shot in the head.

Any blades that are longer than your palm is considered an illegal weapon to carry around in the public. Otherwise that would be pretty cool.
User avatar #157 to #43 - newforomador (09/30/2013) [-]
Really? Where I live it's any blade longer than 6 inches is illegal.
User avatar #294 to #157 - dfgthree (10/02/2013) [-]
Well i believe that might only apply if the weapon is concealed, but none the less, people are going to get a little nervous if someone is walking around with a big knife lol
User avatar #295 to #294 - newforomador (10/02/2013) [-]
Depends on where you live. If you live somewhere in the city maybe, but where I live (it's a pretty country area) people go into places like Walmart with knives that size and bigger on their side

i get to carry around a saber when im in uniform. i feel special. its not sharp though. but i could probably run someone through with it.

Why did the perpetrator pull the gun back and point his chin out?
User avatar #156 to #132 - subaqueousreach ONLINE (09/30/2013) [-]
The clerk reached for the gun to hold it away, the man pulled it away from his grasp, but the clerk kept his hand near the gun to try and keep the assailant from bringing it to bear.

The reason he probably leaned forward is he appears to be a large man, and typically when a big guy gets up in your face (or anyone really) it can be rather intimidating. Unfortunately for the big guy his tactic didn't work considering the clerk had a gun of his own.

Remember, very few criminals (relatively speaking) are ever intelligent about how they do things. Most crimes are thought of in the last minute by desperate people who don't really have the gusto to carry things out should they turn even slightly unfavorable.

Somebody who makes "mugging people at night with a shotgun" his life choice career . isn't exactly an strategist. Let alone common sense.
