Yes, two parallel lines can meet depending on the geometric context. In the typical, standard context of Euclidean geometry, this is not possible. However, mathematics always "assumes" a certain context of restrictions and logical limitations (e.g. real numbers vs. complex plane). Real projective geometry is one in which parallel lines meet at a point at infinity. An interesting implication of this is that +infinity and infinity are equal.
