GTA V is going to be the biggest game release since.. well..
I really don't think there has been a game before that has been so marketed and promoted in a way that has made its release into more of an event.

And I for one, can not, ******* wait. ESPECIALLY after seeing the online gameplay on thursday.

Can't say anything about GTAV, but yes, I agree. Last of Us is overrated by a lot of people. Its not bad, but not GOTY like a lot of people are saying. It is a 7/10, and feels like the summit of all recent tropes in gaming; zombies, long exposition, survival horror mechanics, crafting and upgrade mechanics, cover based shooting, optional stealth, partner AI, and ambiguous moral choices that really don't mean anything in the end. It does all of these things fairly well, but if you don't consider them to be great things, they mean nothing.

It's not that it's not fun, but it is not particularly unique or amazing either. It did not meet my expectations either.

I don't think we can say GTA V is overrated until it comes out.

**** , sorry they aren't generic fps #4967. A god damned shame game companies try and actually make quality products.

He didn't say they were bad, he said they were and are over rated.

Now he can't possibly know GTA V, but in history, GTA IV is a tad over rated, and I would also agree that The Last of Us is over rated too, at least by the internet.

It's good, but it's not groundbreaking like so many people seem certain it is.

You're right, it's not generic FPS #4967, it's generic open world #4239.

a quality product is one with a cliche story, puzzles that "find the ladder", very forgivable loot surplus for supplies? Or a game that's promising features that won't be really used and/or get tedious the second time you're forced to do it? Sorry, I don't suck the cocks of Rockstar and Naughty Dog pre or post game launch.

And what do you qualify as "quality games" then?

Also, play on a harder difficulty

Dude, what they did with their story was give it heart, and make you care about the characters you were interacting with. Hate to break ti to you, but everyone in the gaming industry will agree. every possible story arc has been done before, you cant do anything wholly new. You need to make it excellent enough that nobody notices. The Last of us was not meant to be a puzzle game, so why shoudl it have insanely intricate puzzles. The supply surplus was intended to help those not overly great at video games still enjoy the product. Claiming features won't be used or will get tedious is just talking out of your ass. No, you don't suck their cocks, but you have an un-explained hate for them and are drawing un-founded conclusions.

I don't really mind GTA, but games like this and Gone Home just feel like they used an entirely inappropriate medium. You might as well have made a movie, or if you really wanna get in with the character a show. If it wants to be a "game" it needs solid mechanics with it's top-notch story/lore/world (see Dark Souls).

Honestly, I feel like the story is wasted on me having no fun playing.

not to mention the adjustable difficulty in video games that everyone seems to forget

That's not a reason to give it props, the biggest change that increasing the difficulty does in this game is make it a strangle-simulator.
