I saw it, it was better than I thought.

There were plot holes so big that Kaiju could have come out of them...but still alright, i guess.

"Giant fat squishy thing? Let's punch/shoot it, getting horribly damaged."

BECAUSE SWORDS ARE LAST RESORT AND WE PRETEND WE DON'T HAVE THEM.

"Guys, the Jaegers are getting destroyed. It's not worth funding them, BUILD A WALL INSTEAD!"

"GREAT IDEA JIM"

"HEY GUYS THE WALL GOT DESTROYED AT SYDNEY"

"Well, we can't just go reinstate the Jaegar program. I mean, come on. They dont' need money or global support. Let's just...you know...let it happen."

what about the aliens coming in 2 or 3 at a time? instead of all the kaiju coming in at once?

That was actually explained. The breach wasn´t stable enough and took time getting stable. Actually, that was one of the biggest points in the movie, the fact that they had to destroy it, before even more Kaiju could come over at the same time.

Probably the aliens sending them didn't do surveillance and thought that maybe 1 in a while were enough...?

well it seems that it was rather convenient for us humans that only 2 kaijus came out at once. If i was the alien commander i would have sent my army of 200 kaijus.

Ah, yeah. Well, something about the construction of the Breach, i'm sure...

Remember that they were creating these kaiju and re-adapting them according to the defenses from the human. Also, I'd assume that the breach would work similarly to a gate in that it takes time and energy to open it farther. I believe that was the reasoning for it.

To be fair, I would think that building one, let alone mass-producing a functional gigantic, combat-based robot would eventually take a massive toll on the world's economical integrity. In fact, if you listen closely, once the wall construction workers hear the news about the wall breach in Sydney, one man shouts "Why the hell are we even still building this thing?!"

Exactly. When teh wall failed, and the Kaiju are crazy persistant, why don't they just divert the wall money back to jaegars? They just throw it away on the wall

It may in fact be a folly of the government (much like every other friggin' thing the government does) in which they realize that they have put too much money into it than they would like to give up, so they order the walls to continue to be built.

That's how they want capitalism to work; you pay for it, you get it, no strings attached.

the part that bothered me the most "the kaiju are evolving to defeat us, good thing they cant evolve against a wall though right?"

I think the wall thing was actually a dig at how real world governments have tons of ideas and politics that don't work.

They portal was most likely still open, or it was closing just slow enough to leave the smallest dilation for the two to have gotten through.

Swords are a last resort weapon because Kaiju blood is highly toxic or something. Therefore, they had to either use blunt weapons or something that cauterizes the wound the moment it was inflicted, hence the plasma guns.

never thought of that. but i must ask why the hell did the plasma reactor fist thing to the face do less damage then the super big knife....that's the part that killed me. other wise i loved the movie and hope is inspsires some gundam wing / big o style cross overs

Probably they evolved/adapted to avoid that plasma ray thing. Knifes havent been used in a long time so Kaijus decided to change their anti-knife to anti-plasma shell.

The plasma gun probably did less damage because they had the outer shell around them that absorbed most of the blasts. The sword just went straight through them.

spoilers

my biggest thing was that they found out the kaiju had pilots just like them, but they dont really find out anything about them, they just go to their home world and blow them up. There was just really no point in having this in the movie at all

the kaiju didn't have pilots, they were part of a hive mind

every kaiju and alien that made kaiju were linked togeather mentally.. almost like they had pilots, but now wuite
