Dudes, dudes, dudes. How the hell do we know reality doesn't store big guns in it's bathrooms? MAYBE we ARE in the mirror, looking at what we would classify as our dimension. This knowledge of the looking glass could however shrivel the borderlines of our twin dimensions, allowing contact with other mother fucking imitators of us. If you do not think this would take place in the other dimension (if this is a split between them) then let me ask you this. In our reality, would some imbecile wannabe be the discoverer of the other realm? I think NOT. He just had a gun at hand and the other realm dude was opposite so he had all the brains. :D
