TheSchwartz (07/09/2013) [-] Not fully. There was a civil war between Secular Israel and the Ultra-Orthodox over the walling off of Jerusalem. I'm pretty sure that turned out ugly. Still, they were better off than Most countries.

It's absolutely terrific. It's written as an epistolary, where the entire story is actually a long compilation of short stories. Basically, it's a bunch of survivor accounts of the Zombie War, all in chronological order. It's nothing like the movie, but definitely better. And actually, it's a really accurate representation of how a zombie apocalypse would probably go down.

Tastygiblets (07/09/2013) [-] They are both very good in their own regards. The movie was more directed towards action and zombie killing / trying to find a cure - which is what was expected. The book focuses on the aftermath of the event and the social, political, and economic consequences - and is written as a series of short stories. I'd recommend watching the movie first for chronological sake.

metaltheory (07/08/2013) [-] World War Z (The movie) Is based on a book written like 5 years ago, the War Z game was probably approached so that their wasn't a confusion between the two separate products being linked with either the movie or the book. A smart move since the game was generally reviewed as being complete dog **** .

adtrfreak (07/09/2013) [-] It is based on the book but they couldn't do a movie about a reporter asking 100 different people their experiences of the outbreak. That would not be entertaining. But a lot of the scenes in the movie were described in the book just put into a different context.
