This was the only thing in the movie that bothered me since childhood, especially since it contradicts itself.
In the beginning, it says Plato was the one who talked about Atlantis sinking into the sea. True
It says Plato talked about this in the 800's BC. True.
Then they show that the movie takes place in the early 1900's. Okay.
So she would be over 2500 years old, not 100!!!!!!! What the heck?

Otherwise great movei though. Plus, Lenord Nimoy is the King of Atlantis!!! How awesome is that!!!!

Yes, Movie was making in 1900's. But the character and background details made them much older than you counted. She is 8800 years old and Atlantic sank 9000 years ago.

"85, 88 hundred" would mean 8500 or 8800.

Atlantis is thought to have sank into the sea around 9000 years ago. Plato discussed other people's descriptions of the place. He is saying that she is 8800 years old in this image.

I don't understand how you followed from the first two sentences to the third. Maybe this will solve it: What is Milo specifically referencing to when he says 100 years old? It's obviously not her age.

he doesn't say 100. he says "hundred". It's a direct follow up to him saying 88. As such, it is 88 hundred years old.

Ah, that clears everything up. I'm not the original anon but this has also been bothering me.
