My dad was in Iraq back in 2003, they tested an AK by running it over with an Abrams tank, ****** still worked and fired the entire magazine

It was shown on a video, that the AK could be thrown into sand, run over by a tank and STILL be fully functional.

The main factory that makes them puts them under ridiculous circumstances-- EACH AND EVERY ONE-- and make sure that they can still fire. It's extreme as balls.

Same with a glock. I'm pretty sure there is actually a movie called the glock torture test or something that goes through extremes and sees if it still works. I think there was even one test where they dropped it out of a plane and it still works.

It doesn't explode. It's just gas escaping through the holes in the gas pipe and the gap between the pipe parts..

There was a Russian officer who went to the middle East with his troops and found a village that had been destroyed. As he was walking around he noticed a halfway decomposing corpse and under it he noticed the stock of an AK-47, he pull it out from under the corpse and pulled the trigger, it fired with no problems and he still owns it.

I apologize for lacks of specifics, (dates, names ect... I was told this story a long time ago and have forgotten them)

Well you see, firing a bullet out of an aquarium might actually break the glass, crazy right? and also, the vibrations of a fired gun closed up in water 10cm away from glass might even break it, isn't that crazy?

Bullets lose velocity extremely quickly when underwater (see comment #9) so it's not his fault he: can't see the glass in the first place, and might have known that about bullets. The vibrations is most likely what happened like you said.

Why do people still call it an Ak-47? If it wasn't make pre-1950 then it's an AKM... Ak-47 is just it's prototype name. I know I'm just being anal about this but it's pretty much the equivalent of someone calling a magazine a clip or rounds "boolits"

Close but not entirely true the AK-47 wasn't a prototype it was a different process in making them. Originally the receivers had to be milled out of billet steel. An 8 pound piece had to be painstakingly milled down to a few ounces. The AKM designation was a change in the design to stamp the receivers.

good point,
but did you know that the AK-47 is still manufactured in Pakistan, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, USA, former soviet republics and a **** ton more as the AK-47 (original stamped receiver, original muzzle break etc) so its technically not a prototype, the AK-1 was the prototype for the AK family.
did you know that the difference between an AK-47 and an AK-M is not necessarily the year but rather stamped vs. milled receiver? and did you know that the AKM was made in 1959 and not 1950? calling an AKM an AK47 is not incorrect, rather it is military vs factory designation. the Izhmash factory still labels all ak-47 type rifles as ak47 followed by 1-4 type designation for various receiver types, and a/b for fixed or folding stock. So AK47 type 3b is an AK47, milled steel bar receiver with a folding stock.
Russia does not manufacture 7.62x39, since their armed forces have switched to the more modern AK-74 (5.45x39), which also has a M variant again primary difference in manufacturing method.
