Today was senior prank day. For one part of their prank, they put lube on all the rails and doorknobs in the school. Everyone was slippery and annoyed... -_-

Doitsu...?
User avatar #56 to #53 - Loppytaffy (06/05/2013) [-]
I do not know of a country called Doitsu. Who the **** taught you goegraphy?
User avatar #57 to #56 - NiceMelons (06/05/2013) [-]
OK. Germany...?

Isn't doitsu his 'pet name' for want of a better phrase?
User avatar #61 to #57 - Loppytaffy (06/05/2013) [-]
Doitsu is hiragana for Deutschland. Calling him Doitsu doesn't make sense.
User avatar #62 to #61 - NiceMelons (06/05/2013) [-]
I'm not the only one, just search 'doitsu' on tumblr. Plus, I'm pretty sure Italy calls him doitsu a few times.
User avatar #68 to #62 - LoneWhiteWolf (06/05/2013) [-]
Italy does affectionately refer to Germany as "Doitsu" ^^
User avatar #70 to #68 - Loppytaffy (06/05/2013) [-]
In the Japanese. Because he's speaking ******* Japanese. Japan if called Nihon, too.
#71 to #70 - LoneWhiteWolf (06/05/2013) [-]
Yes... The anime IS originally Japanese, so he/she has a right to refer to him as Doitsu if they want to ^^
User avatar #73 to #71 - Loppytaffy (06/05/2013) [-]
But they are simply country names. No one calls Canada Kanada, not America Amerika, or Russia Russia, and France Furansu, or Britain Igirisu, or Italy Itaria, Or Austria Oosturia, or Hungary Hangari, or Prussia Purusian.

"No one calls Russia Russia"
all of my wat

Anyone who watched Hetalia subbed does ^^
They also have Human names. For example
N. Italy - Feliciano Vargas
Germany - Ludwig
Japan - Honda Kiku
America- Alfred F. Jones
England - Arthur Kirkland
France - Francis Bonnefoy
China - Yao Wang
Russia - Ivan Braginski
Etc. So you can call them many names, not just their English-dub names

They're hypothetical. "Himaruya, if the countries had human names, what would they be?"
Also the "F" and America's name stands for **** .
And going through translations, Italy and Poland have the same human name.
Also Vargas is a Spanish name.

Also did you know that the most popular surname in Belarus is Ivanov? Meaning "wife of Ivan"?
#79 to #77 - LoneWhiteWolf (06/05/2013) [-]
Italy was brought up with Spain (In the Anime) Hence "Vargas"

And also In the Anime Belarus continuously asks to marry Russia despite being his "sister" So that also makes sense XD

But even so, I was only pointing out that you can refer to the Hetalia characters in several different ways
User avatar #81 to #79 - Loppytaffy (06/05/2013) [-]
I have seen all the anime, and read the manga (even deleted strips and bloodbaths), i have delved deep into history, geography, politics and such (enough to know that Holy Rome and Germany couldn't possibly be the same person, as Germany was born of the Germanic states after Napoleon collapsed Holy Rome, and Holy Rome was born of Lechfeld. And also if you like Buon San Valentino, I just thought I'd tell you Italy is already married- Festa Della Sensa), I know possibly everything there is to know about hetalia, and more. Heck, I've even tried to work out their ages; Italy is nearly a millenium older than Germany.

Belarus wanting to marry Russia is reference to political affairs, not surnames.

I think you're missing my point ^^* Ah well
I've never really done research into the politics behind Hetalia so I shall leave it to your better knowledge ^^
However I was just pointing out that the Original Author Intended for Italy to refer the Germany as Doitsu on occasion. So Regardless of how correct that is in the real world It Is ok If someone refers to him as such.

Italy always refers to Germany as Deutsch, it's the Japanese name for the country. If you read it in the manga, it's a lazy translation, you'll never hear it said in the dub.
User avatar #86 to #85 - LoneWhiteWolf (06/05/2013) [-]
I was refering to subbed, not dubbed.
User avatar #124 to #86 - Loppytaffy (06/06/2013) [-]
In which, in Japanese, Italy says Deutsch. I can't believe over 2000 years of evolving the Latin alphabet and it's neglected in favour of annoying nicknames.
#125 to #124 - LoneWhiteWolf (06/06/2013) [-]
Oh come on! They're just affectionate, light-hearted nicknames. Does It really matter XD

It rather degrades his status as a country...
User avatar #127 to #126 - LoneWhiteWolf (06/06/2013) [-]
Although i do get your point, the whole show degrades and takes the piss out of EVERY country. That's why Its's so funny
