Yes, you don't go blasting people whenever you want. Even in the service, there's a proper way to escalate force. At the very least make it known you're drawing on them. Going around blowing people away when you don't know the full situation is a good way to get sent to jail and ruin it for the rest of us

Exactly. Must be a military thing. It's not like it's "Shoot first, ask questions later." But when it comes to someone's well-being, I would not hesitate if I was saving someone from being killed. Saying "I' going to pull a gun and stop you" is only going to make them hide behind the victim and ruin any chance you have of stopping him if it's a real emergency.

You're taught use of force in a CC class. Once you had him restrained you wouldn't keep strangling him, you should simply hold him until he can be detained either with the help of another person, or a police officer.

I saw a man being strangled, possibly to death. Not restrained. I was nearly mugged a year ago, and I managed to restrain the guy (luckily a cop happened by shortly thereafter) you can tell the difference between someone choking someone to death, and someone who is afraid for their life restraining an attacker.

Most of the ones I've seen have been in England, so they'd probably be okay.

There's always 3 things that a human will do in a deadly situation like this. Naturally as you know, you don't know which one of these three things you will do until you encounter a certain situation, but based upon your character and the given situation, you'll do the right thing. One is to fight, you stand up and take it into your own hands to save your own life or someone around you. The second is that you will run, FLY as they call it, the fight or flight game. You will run to save your own life, but in a situation like this, you'll put someone else's life in even more endangerment. The third and final action you will do, is fucking pull out your goddamn phone and record the whole fucking thing like a dickrag. You're not protecting yourself, not protecting anyone else, no, you're recording fucking natural selection at work when you could be pissing on the problem. I pray to god you're not a #3 or I will lose hope in everything good.

Well, I'm pretty sure i wouldn't even think about recording it. I guess it depends on the situation. If the guy doing the strangling is some scary monster of guy, I'd probably run away and get help, because there is no way i could take on such a guy.

If he looks kinda average or even tiny, I'd probably get in there and try to take him out with a kick or 2. Just to avoid a fight, because, like i said, i never fought anyone so I'd probably get my ass kicked if it should come to an actual fight.
