Or... you're just a guy who's not really into these movies and instead of saying "meh, it's not my cup of tea" you'll say "this movies suck, I didn't see one boob in it, and there were no explosions... Transformers 2 & 3 OXOXOXOXOXOXOX best movies evurrrrrr Megan FAX!"

or are you just on that level of understanding simple things such as the sublime meaning of this movie?

I'm sorry. I could have said that in a more civilized way. I just wanted to start a discussion about a movie I really despise, but not for the reasons you mentioned..

I understand that it's a simple movie about two people who are both literally and metaphorically stranded in their lives. It's a movie that tries to sell the simpleness of "real" human problems and dilemmas. One is young and confused, one is old and experienced, but as they begin to form a friendship together they inspire each other and they leave the place far more settled with their lives.

It's not the fact that there are no car chases, sex scenes or gun fights, but the sheer fact that, IMO, it's a fake movie. The director tried to make a real-life (love) story, with a sublime meaning, but, again IMO, ended up with a movie about two self-righteous Americans who feel so bad for themselves and a lot of spiteful jokes about how weird the Japanese are, just because the Americunts can't understand their culture.

You know what I hate more than people who likes movies like Transformers, because of the action and sexual tension? People who like movies like LIT, because of it's fake "sublime meaning".
