Nisemonogatari. Can't remember which episode though. There's also Bakemonogatari(prequel to Nise) and Nekomonogatari(prequel to Bake), as well as a movie called Kabukimonogatari, which is the prequel to Nekomonogatari, and basically the beginning of it all

Hellsing Ultimate and Gantz are the most violent I know of, but you've probably seen them. Higurashi starts off happy, but then shit hits the fan with one of them going crazy and killing the others, but not sure if you'd like it

Also Gurren Lagann is pretty damn violent if you realize just how many lives are ended over the course of the show.

I'll say it like this. As far as I know, Gantz and Higurashi are both subbed and dubbed

As for my opinion on sub vs dub. It comes down to which one has better actors. I mostly watch sub, since that's all they have, but the few that I enjoy dubbed, are usually really good shows, like Gurren Lagann or Hellsing Ultimate

I like dubs, personally, because I feel I'm missing half the show when I have to read subtitles.

When it comes to sub, you just get used to it. You eventually start to read it without thinking about it. When it comes to dub, they tend to pick bad actors for the role. Several times I've watched a series after it became dubbed, only to stop because the voices annoyed me

I agree for Hellsing and Gurren Lagann. Haven't seen Spice and Wolf. As for voices, I like the ones that did Eu from Kore wa Zombie desuka
