That's a good game, and even a bit scary in the first part of the human campaign.

Contrary to popular opinion, DmC is neither complete shit nor awesome. It's average if you weren't a fan of DMC, and bad if you were.

I can't empathise with someone that self-centered. I can't empathise with someone that would have killed his brother without a second thought. Dante used to be a good person who was a smartass and kind at the same time. The only time he was self-centered was in the beginning of 3 where he decided that unless he was getting paid he wasn't going to get involved with human/demon disputes, and even that changed. He was a trickster, so to speak. He cried when he though he killed Virgil and Virgil was trying to eliminate humans, compared to the new Dante who was going to kill Virgil who wanted to control humans and not kill them.

I don't understand how people can say this. Look below, someone already pointed out some of the flaws with it. The Ranking system is no longer based on comboes and length but damage, meaning what used to be a measurement of skill means nothing. Many times you fight enemies only able to be hurt by certain types, limiting your choice. There's input delay, pretty bad at that. The AI can seriously fuck up at times (there's numerous videos of people beating the Hunter(?) on the hardest difficulty using only the guns). There are less actual comboes and moves to perform. Lock-on was removed and there are less enemies in encounters.

While calling it 'emo faggot version' certaintly wasn't mature, there's nothing wrong with not liking newer installments. There's nothing wrong with calling out faults a game has. People called out DMC 4 for bad platforming.

When was he ever a douche? He'd always been a good guy. The closest I can think of is DMC 3's younger Dante where he was a smartass and kinda cynical, and even then he grows out of it fairly quickly.

Neither, both are incredibly disappointing. If you must have one then DmC at least has some tight gameplay to fall back on.
