In red and blue you could catch raichu and depending on Ivs when u trade it to gold or silver it can be shiny. get fucked nigga

My only two legit shiny encounters have been on Nuzlocke runs.

Shiny Machop in Victory Road in Leaf Green.
Shiny Spinda on Route 113 in Emerald.

They weren't my "allowed captures" of the area, but I caught them anyway for the sake of being so uncommon. Didn't use them for the Nuzlocke run, though. Traded them up from Emerald to Platinum to my 'Master' White cart.

There are some hacked ROMs that randomize what's available as wild encounters. They're best for Nuzlocke runs. Pokemon Blaze Black and Volt White are pretty neat hacks of Black and White. First area is full of "route 1" PKMN from all the games, second is all "route 2" PKMN and so forth. Gym Leader and Trainer rosters are also mixed up for better diversity and challenges. The Leader battle in the first Gym is a rotation battle against all 5 starters and the "tea-monkey" that are strong against your starter. Shit was so cash.

On emerald version after you beat it a cave appears on route 103 next to the water's edge in the cave you can find any pokemon from gen 3 as a shiny once I caught shiny black zubat leveled to a crobat and nicknamed it Batman
