Because since Obama's presidency, he gets blamed for everything. Even things which aren't his fault.

People blame the president for everything even if he really didn't play a part in it. It's happens to every president, but since it just became popular and Obama is the current president then you see it's always "thanks Obama". If it's still popular four years from now then it will be "thanks whoever-the-hell-the-president-is"

True, but people like to blame the president because uneducated people think that the president has all the power in the U.S, making him a reasonable target for insults and issues.

Thus a figurehead, that's pretty much their role, taking responsibility whether they want to or not.

the power you don't know he has (as in information that isn't publicly well known, wire tappings, just saying a name and that person disappearing) is the power that is the most dangerous of all.

*shrug* or a realist, there HAS to be a lot of stuff that we just don't know about, otherwise why would it have been a shock when wiki-leaks released those thousands of classified documents. The president knows a lot that we have no clue about, part of the job, and in knowledge is power.

Of course, i just really wanted to make that joke. But it wouldn't be the president who has those powers, thats more like the director of the CIA, etc.

uhh.. according to wikipedia, the National Defense Authorization Act of last year gave "the President" the ability to restrain anyone who commits a "beligerant act" against America, so a really offensive blog COULD count lol. and I personally believe he is let in on all of that stuff because he's the one who has to appoint other figureheads (head of state, defense, etc.) and there is probably relevant info to each area that he knows secretly.
