IT was hilarious. Apparently the player was running and making a "shhhhh" sound towards the Marine because he was in charge of the color gaurd for the rival team. You DONT hush a marine.... you just don't. So the above image happened.... Epic.

Haha, the Marine cadre for our NROTC detachment are insane! As an Army cadet, I can't help but feel a little sorry for the Marine option Midshipmen. Still, I have nothing but the utmost respect for the Corps, and that goes double for your NCO's.

Civilians can salute members of the military, there's actually nothing wrong with it, you're just not "supposed" to salute back. The only time a salute is required is when an enlisted personnel is saluting an officer outdoors (and in other various scenarios I won't go into) but a salute can be presented to anyone who has "earned" the honor, it's why you'll even see officers saluting medal of honor recipients.

To elaborate, an MOH recipeint would rate a salute from a POTUS if said POTUS was in uniform. Also I usually half assedly return salutes from civilians while I'm in civilian attire. and by half assedly I mean knife hand moved to the general direction of face

Very true, but I wasn't aware the President could ever be "out" of uniform, haha, then again I doubt the President is expected to adhere to a strict code of customs and courtesies.

Its actually not what you think. Regardless of your rank a civilian is will always be referred to as sir or ma'am. We work for the population. It'd be like a major saluting a sergeant. Also many civilians don't o it as a sign of respect like it should be. Many do it mockingly
