People must get these pets purely for novelty. They're poisonous, endangered, need lots of room to climb, do nothing but look funny and they're bred and traded by people who don't give a fuck about their welfare. Not exactly the ideal pet.
Anyone who loves creatures like these would prefer to see them in the wild instead.

You realize that animals don't "enjoy" living out in the wild, right? It's a constant, 24/7 struggle to survive and eat. Captive animals have unlimited food, almost instant medical care, and complete protection from predators. Believe me, animals are fucking ecstatic about captivity.

I don't enjoy living in a polluted, crowded civilization surrounded by idiots, i don't enjoy it here. But i'd rather live where i do than anywhere else because it's what's natural to me.
Take elephants for example, in the wild they have to walk for weeks with little water and no food during the drout and some of them don't make it, but in captivity they get fresh food water and shelter every day, you'd think they'd enjoy it? Nope, because they don't have the freedom to migrate like their instinct is telling them to do, so they go stir crazy. Just like a slow loris would without being able to climb

Yes, I'm not disagreeing that there are inhumane practices afoot. My point was that any animal would rather live in a reasonable captive environment. Reasonable does not include what is done to the lorises. Any animal can be domesticated in a reasonable and safe way; I doubt Lorises need to have their fucking teeth pulled, that's just sick.

Lorises are also nocturnal creatures. Bright lights hurt their eyes. Pretty much every single video/gif ever showing how cute they are in brightly lit areas where the loris's eyes can be hurt.
Although I do agree with you for the most part.
