i do have a rom, but i don't have your luck, and i don't do savestates on the old games.

I didn't say savestates, I meant loading the actual game. Save where there are plenty of Abras, get into a battle and throw a ball. Bulbapedia tells me you have about a one-in-four chance, so it shouldn't take more than a few minutes. I got two, traded one for Machop like tehbomb said, and oneshotted pretty much the entire Goldenrod Gym.

right now im stuck on the elite four, i severly underlevelled and even with 20x fastforward, grinding on victory road takes an eternity.

Now there's a group that's tough to prepare for.
In terms of 2nd gen, I've only gotten that far on Heart Gold, all I recall is that I had Typhlosion and a shit-load of Revives. Good luck man.

even with all level 40's with buterfree suicune (pokemon crystal), fregalatr (im a whore for water type starters) raticate and 2 others, i cant get past the 1st.
