I think the whole idea of drifting bikes is pretty stupid. I mean sure it is cool but it just doesn't even seem like they are drifting. Enjoying the gigantic amount of smoke in your face and the smell of burning rubber is much better than the tiny dust that the bikes create.

Eh, To each their own--I've always found drifting a bike to be more impressive just because of the amount of riding skill involved--Most of your WSB and GP racers will Drift it over turning AS LONG as the turn isn't too sharp just because you can enter that turn at a higher rate of speed--Granted Drifting on a bike is like saying "FUCK MY REAR TIRE I WANT A NEW ONE!"

True it does take a good amount of skill and not any average rider can do it, but I think that since drifting originated with cars that it should stay that way

you can't drift with an AWD. to drift with AWD cars, people basically convert them into RWD in order to do so. powersliding and drifting are completely different.

also you can't do shit with a FWD. once you lose control, you lose control. it's game over

To drift with a AWD you need to be constantly accelerating only then is it possible.

it's damn near impossible to lose traction on all four wheels on a AWD car. unless your motor puts out enough power to spin your wheels faster than they can grip. drifting is losing traction on all four wheels and having them spin faster than the car is moving.

It's possible though. You just need a powerful enough car, and allot of experience.

A scandiavian flick is turning against the direction of an upcoming corner and then suddenly switching to full lock in the opposite direction to "flick" the back end out, and is used to instigate a powerslide, so what you saw in the gif was most probably started with a scandinavian flick.
