It's quite logical what happened really. He was using a tape measure when it resisted his control, we all know how dangerous they can be when untamed. After it got free it stunned him with a well placed strike to the face and wrapped around his legs, beating him, and pulling him down. There, it slowly ingested him and would go back into hiding after having it's filling meal. Fascinating creatures.

Indeed. I had one, her name was Charlie. I got her from home depot and had her for many a year. I grew up with her and she helped me build everything I wished. Then one day, out of no where she attacked one of the neighbors. I had to put her down. It was a sad sad day.
