I not only live in the same city where this is filmed, but I personally know the producer of this show and even had the chance to have a tour of the factory and even go on the set where they film this and see a rake handle ground to sawdust.

They also have this huge back room where they have everything, and I mean everything that you could think of to stick into there, from rubber balls to screws to batteries to cell phones so they actually haven't even shown a fraction of what they've tried. Still, it must be a really fun job.
