Humans used to have them. The pink in the corner of your eye is what is left over from it. I forgot what its used for but i think its just extra protection for the eye. You can easily find more info by searching it on google.

We used to have it as extra protection for our eyes. However, as we adapted and evolved, we had no more use for it so we began to lose it. Evolution, my friend.
