he's not buying more than he needs he's buying just the right amount which happens to be all of it. And the store still making profit from discounted products doesn't change the fact that I'm paying less for it if I buy it now.

Normally the mark up only goes as high as 15-30%. We sell bacon.

If I use a steady amount of bacon, and this stuff lasts for a while, then it would be smart to buy bacon in bulk when it's on sale. And of course supermarkets mark up the price, but still when there's a sale you pay less for the same product. I basically have no idea what your point is
